WE WON!!

We won!! Our local paper was having a 'summer photo' contest, and I looked and looked for a cute picture of both boys (virutally impossible, since Jason doesn't sit long enough to take a good picture!!), and this was the best I could come up with! Well, there's nothing like getting woken up at 5:45a by a crying baby!! Yep, Jason woke up crying - and it wasn't the 'ok, I got scared, I can go back to sleep' cry, it was the one every mother DREADS - "HEY EVERYONE!! I'M WIIIIIDE AWAKE AND THERE'S NO CHANCE I'M GOING BACK TO SLEEP!!!" Ugh. So I trudged in there and he was already standing there in his crib with his arms up...Nope, no chance to go back to sleep. He told me, "DEEE deeeeeeee...." (John Deere), so off we headed, downstairs, to watch his DVD (for the millionth time). Yawn. Well, I was planning on waking up at 7a anyway, but what is it about waking up just an HOUR seeming like waking up FIVE HOURS earlier?!!!?

I have become the master of the "3-5 minute shower" (I say 3-5 because 5 minutes is when I actually have time to put conditioner in my hair! ha!!).

I set him up in front of his DVD and flew up the stairs for my quickie shower. Speaking of showers, my hubby an

d I had a 'discussion' last night - he was home again around 5:30p (SHOCKING) and so we ate dinner. After dinner, the boys wanted to go outside and Kev said he was going to take a shower and headed upstairs. The boys and I were outside for about an hour, we came in and here comes Kevin down the stairs, looking fresh as a daisy. I asked him something like "what are you doing?" or something and he goes, "I just got out of the shower..." I go, "You've been in the shower for the last HOUR??" Kev: "Well, I shaved (his head and goatee)..." Man, oh MAN, how I wish *I* could take an 'hour long shower' and shave my legs for more than 3-5 minutes!! Why do the men have it so good!?!?!? Sometimes, after I've put the boys to bed, I'm in the 'bathroom' and realize, "Huh...I think this is only the 2nd time I've peed today!!!" There's no time!!!! :)

Here's a picture of the boys on Jake's first day of school...Jason had JUST smacked Jake 'upside the head...' That baby just does NOT like to have his picture taken...I love Jake's face, too. He's like, "What the...???"
